Help us celebrate the 200th anniversary of Branwell Brontë's birth!
Monday 26 June marks 200 years since the birth of Branwell Brontë, and we will be celebrating the day in style! We're hosting a Bicentenary Breakfast in the house where he was born in Thornton, which is now Emily's Café and Bistro. Join Principal Curator Ann Dinsdale from 10.30am as she shares her experience of "living with Branwell" over the past 27 years, and tuck into a delicious selection of pastries! Tickets £15 / £12.50, available from our website.
We have lots going on at the Museum, too, with free talks on Branwell taking place at 11.30am and 2pm, plus an arty drop-in workshop giving you the chance to paint Branwell (or yourself!) back into the iconic Pillar Portrait runs between 11am-4pm, with all materials provided. At 3pm we will be screening A Humble Station, a documentary on Branwell by local filmmaker Simon Zonenblick, which explores Branwell's links to the Calder Valley and celebrates his time in this beautiful part of the country, and the work he produced while working on the railways there. Finally, Branwell's drinking pal John Brown is dropping in to the Museum from 11.30am, and will be sharing a few tales about his good friend.
All activities are free with admission to the Museum, so why not come along on this special day and help us to celebrate the life and times of Branwell Brontë.

Calling all Wuthering Heights superfans!
We've been contacted by an American film crew, who are seeking to interview Emily Brontë lovers who travel or have travelled in the past to Haworth in order to live out their Catherine Earnshaw fantasies. They'd love to hear about why the novel and its characters speak so strongly to its many fans, and will be filming in Haworth this August. Please contact wheights.project@gmail.com for more information and to share your stories!
NB - the film crew are not affiliated with The Brontë Society or the Museum in any way, and are an entirely external organisation.
