Celebrating Innovation in Publishing – FutureBook Awards 2017

The Futurebook awards are open.

Ideas are being turned into action by publishers big and small, in startups, and in side hustles. Help us to find the people and companies that are changing the future of publishing.

There are six categories celebrating publishing innovation.

FutureBook Leader of the Year: This award honours industry leaders who influence publishing’s future. They are individuals who drive change, embrace innovative tools and ways of working, and inspire action within their organisation and across publishing.

FutureBook Disruptor of the Year (sponsored by Frankfurt Book Fair): Innovation need disruptors, that’s why we’re celebrating the people whose ideas come from any area of the book business, from any department, and working at any level, in all types of organisations to bring about innovation and change.

FutureBook Campaign of the Year: This category will rewards campaigns that have used digital and/or print in a creative, intuitive and integrated way to promote a book, an author, a genre, a series, a bookshop, an event or anything else book-related.

The FutureBook Book of the Year: These two awards – one for children’s and another for adult – celebrate innovative books in any format that showcase content in a new way to engage their target audience.

Platform of the Year: Recognising excellence in both consumer media platforms and reference/education, these two awards are looking for creation and execution that promotes books, booksellers, authors, publishers or reader engagement.

BookTech Company of the Year: This award seeks startups with the potential to make a unique impact on the book publishing industry in the years ahead – businesses with creativity, market opportunity, and great business models.

Innovation in publishing is happening right now.

We need to find it, celebrate it and share the successes so publishing and bookselling continues to thrive in the digital age.

Check out the FutureBook awards. Tell your friends and co-workers, your bosses and staff. Get them to apply and nominate others between 7 and 29 September 2017.

Spread the word. Publishing innovation is happening – be part of it.
