14 February, 8pm. This month, Seven Live presents the
“music of hushed beauty” from James Dey and his band. Also, special
guests Henry Parker and Peter & Louisa. Quality live music night.

On Thursday 15
February, 7.30pm, launching SOAPBOX @ Seven in
Seven Bar hosted by Matt Abbott. Tonight Matt presents award-winning
London-based highly acclaimed poet, Maria Ferguson and West
Yorkshire-based poet, Toria Garbutt, currently on tour with John Cooper
Clarke. This promises to be a cracking event. PWYF 7pm doors.
On Saturday 17
February, 8pm, MEWL Music presents Gypsy Carnival.
Featuring Leeds’ authentic Klezmer group, Kibitz; and Balkan band, From
East To East, this is a meeting place of Gypsy and Balkan cultures,
evoking the atmospheres you might find on a journey across Eastern
Europe. £10 adv /£12

The Screen Seven offering on
Monday 19 February 8pm is French movie, Elle. Michèle
seems indestructible. Head of a successful video game company, she
brings the same ruthless attitude to her love life as to business.
Being attacked in her home changes Michèle's life forever. When she
resolutely tracks the man down, they are both drawn into a curious and
thrilling game that may, at any moment, spiral out of control. £6 on the door.
On Tuesday 20
February, 8pm, Café Scientifique
explores the genomic revolution in healthcare. Clinical Scientist, John
Filby and Information Analyst, Glenda Fozzard, will talk about the
changing genomic landscape, the 100,000 Genome project and what this
means for patients and the NHS. Hat

On Wednesday 21
February, 6-7pm in Seven Bar look forward to Rush Hour Jazz with Dolly
James Dolly James has had a varied career as a singer,
working with Andy Sheppard, performing on Jools Holland’s show and
undertaking a world tour with Simply Red. PWYF.
Also on Wednesday 21
February, 8pm, is a film showing of Magnetic Mountains.
This is an independent documentary that follows the story of an
everyman who, after falling from an Alpine north face, is struggling to
find a balance. Featuring some of the biggest names in mountain sports,
it explores the psychology of risk taking in the mountains, asking – is
it really worth it?

Opening its 2018 season on Saturday
24 February, 8.30pm, TumbleweedAmericana
presents Caroline Spence. While Caroline Spence may not look
like one of the road-hardened troubadours of America's past, with the
release of Spades & Roses, the young songwriter from
Charlottesville Virginia proves she is every bit as serious. £11 adv /£13 otd. Doors 8pm.
