Calling all Dancing Queens... To claim your complimentary glass of bubbly and canapés book you free ticket here BOOK Yorkshire Brass Band Championships Huddersfield Town Hall, Sat 3rd and Sun 4th March Huddersfield Town Hall, the new home of the Yorkshire Brass Band Championships! Yorkshire’s premier brass band competition. A qualifying contest for the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain with more than sixty bands competing across five sections in the magnificent setting of the Town Hall. The winner and runner up from each section will represent Yorkshire at the finals. The finest bands in Britain such as Black Dyke, Brighouse and Rastrick, Grimethorpe Colliery and Carlton Main Frickley compete in the Championship Section. Closely fought competition and unforgettable performances guaranteed. Vision Connect 2018: Support for visually impaired people In its 3rd year this exhibition organised by Kirklees Transcription Service showcases technology, products and services for blind and partially sighted people.  This increasingly popular event will feature 30 exhibitors from all over the country. So, whether you are visually impaired, or know or work with someone who is, this is the chance to discover what’s on offer from some of the UK’s leading providers – all under one roof. On Harry Bower's Doorstep: Exhibition launch The exhibition launches with a talk by Harry Bower resident Sheila Butterworth and will remain on display in the library for a limited period. It reflects a personal view of the landscape, nature and curiosities within a mile of Harry Bower, Kirkburton and features objects, poetry, film and photos of the area which you may not be aware of unless you take the time to stand and stare at all hours in all seasons. The Scapegoat Hill Band: Storybook Workshop Work with local artist and children's illustrator Lauren Lister to create a new picture book telling the tale of the Scapegoat Hill Band. Enjoy a day of creativity, exploring archives for inspiration, recreating the band's music, and creating words and images that Lauren will bring together to create a book that will be shared at storytimes.  Children will gain Arts Award Discover, and receive a copy of the finished book after printing. Harry Potter & The History of Magic: Cleckheaton The fantastic exhibition, Harry Potter and the History of Magic hits Cleckheaton this March and we're celebrating with a whole bunch of free family events!
