Wednesday evenings, March 7th - 9th May 

Critically acclaimed author William Ryan leads a 10-week course on how you can transform your novel idea or work-in-progress into a fully-fledged manuscript. Each session offers practical advice on essential elements of the writing process, the opportunity to workshop sections of your novel, and regular guest speaker slots with authors, literary agents and commissioning editors feature throughout.



Your Children's Book

Wednesday evenings, March 21st - 18th April

Join award-winning writer for young people and Sunday Times best-selling writer of adult fiction Caroline Green for five stimulating weeks of practical workshops and expert advice, with sessions combining practical exercises, discussion and feedback. Students will explore essential aspects of writing for a wide range of ages, including: how to take an initial idea and develop it into a story that others will want to read; how to craft memorable characters; and how to write vivid settings.

The second National Indexing Day will be held on Thursday 29 March 2018. To celebrate, the Society of Indexers (SI) is running a half-day event for publishers at the Foundling Museum, Brunswick Square, London, from 12 noon to 4pm on 29 March.

This event will include a welcome from honorary president, Sam Leith, and sessions with a focus on current indexing practices and digital developments regarding embedded and linked indexes for ebooks.

The event will provide a valuable opportunity to promote the profession of indexing and to learn from each other for the creation of better book indexes.
