Draw By Four @ Seven

The JazzLeeds concert on Sunday 8 April, 1.30-4pm, is Jon Shenoy’s “Draw by Four”. Draw by Four takes the classic 60s organ quartet into brand new territory where the compositions from leader Jon Shenoy mix contrapuntal bass lines and rhythmic hooks with thoughtful lyricism. Look forward to an infectious mix of groove-based original compositions, enchanting ballads and unique arrangements of avant-pop songs. £10 /£8 conc.

On Monday 9 April, 8pm, the Screen Seven movie is 20th Century Women. During the summer of 1979, a Santa Barbara single mum and boarding house landlord, Dorothea, enlists her young tenants - a quirky punk photographer, a mellow handyman  and her son's shrewd best friend - to serve as role models in a changing world. With a mixture of pain and pleasure Dorothea realises that her plan is taking Jamie away. Stars: Annette Bening, Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwig. £6 on the door.

This month, Wednesday 11 April, 8pm, Seven Live presents the surreal, uplifting and deliciously daft, Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers. Plus special guests, Geraint John Jones and Little Mistakes. £7, under 16’s £5.

Rounding off the week on Friday 13 April, 8pm, is Brotherhood of Troubadours
This published and award-winning circle of song writers present an evening of original song and the stories behind their writing, as well as discussing and performing some of the songs that have, and continue to, inspire them. With Steve Chapman Smith, Nick Hall and Jon Palmer. £10 adv /£12 otd.

Tickets for most events are found at  www.ticketsource.co.uk/sevenleeds/events Where not sold out, tickets are always available on the door.

Every £ spent at Seven helps support high quality arts in a local setting. We look forward to seeing you at Seven very soon.

Our guide's got you covered, from a National Beer Day Bar Crawl to pizza lessons to art gallery tours.
🥪+ 🍕= 💕
Lenny’s Pizza in Sunnyside, Queens, has the first Philly cheesesteak pizza in NYC.

It's the traditional Lenny's slice smothered with sliced beef and onions, topped with a layer of yellow American cheese.

Grab a slice for only $3.50, and give it a try!
Brace Yourself
The “L” train between Brooklyn and Manhattan will be shut down for 15 months to repair the damage from Superstorm Sandy from 2012.

Due to this, Manhattan’s 14th Street will become the nation’s busiest bus route.
Bow-Wow
You don't have to leave Fido outside while you’re picking up your coffee anymore.

The cafe Boris & Hortons is the city’s first official dog-friendly cafe. Not only do they sell coffee, they also sell clothing, knick knacks, and pastries as well.
Game on
Help these cute divers to reach surface before their tanks run out of air!

Match up the colored blocks of sand and other blocks that stand between the divers and land!

#BEAUTYCONNYC, THE PREMIERE BEAUTY FESTIVAL TO HIT NEW YORK, AND COSMOPOLITAN ARE PARTNERING UP TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT #SELFCARESUNDAY.
CHECK OUT TWO IDEAS FOR HOW YOU CAN LEVEL UP YOUR SELF-CARE GAME FROM COSMO EDITOR-IN-CHIEF MICHELE PROMAULAYKO AND #BEAUTYCONNYC PANELIST HANNAH BRONFMAN.
MY FAVORITE #SELFCARESUNDAY RITUAL IS TO TAKE A BATH. (I'M A BIT OF A BATHAHOLIC). HYDROTHERAPY-THE USE OF WATER TO PROVIDE THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS-IS AN ANCIENT, GLOBALLY EMBRACED WAY OF RELEASING TENSION IN BOTH THE MIND AND BODY. BEFOREHAND, I LIKE TO BUFF FROM SHOULDERS-TO-TOES WITH A DRY BRUSH OR EXFOLIATING MITT. THEN, I ENJOY SUBMERGING MYSELF IN HOT WATER INFUSED WITH SOME AROMATIC ESSENTIAL OILS OR SALTS (SHIVA ROSE'S ROSE MOON SEA SALT SOAK IS A FAVE), SURROUNDED BY THE GLOW OF CANDLES. BUT IF YOU'RE BRAVE ENOUGH, YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY CONTRAST BATHING BY ALTERNATING THE WARM BATH WITH A COLD SHOWER. THE HOT-COLD- CYCLE IMPROVES BLOOD CIRCULATION AND ACTIVATES THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM. IT ALSO PROMOTES THE RELEASE OF ENDORPHINS, ALSO KNOWN AS THE WELL-BEING HORMONES. - MICHELE P., COSMO EIC
KEEPING MY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH IN CHECK GUIDES HOW I LIVE MY LIFE AND MAKE CHOICES. I WORKOUT BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY AND I CHANGE UP MY WORKOUTS BASED ON WHAT MY BODY NEEDS AT THAT TIME. I ALSO EAT A MOSTLY PLANT-BASED DIET AND REALLY LISTEN TO MY BODY. I LOVE DARK CHOCOLATE AND DON'T DEPRIVE MYSELF WHEN I WANT TO INDULGE. -HANNAH BRONFMAN, FOUNDER OF HBFIT
LEARN MORE ABOUT SELF-CARE FROM MICHELE AND HANNAH AT #BEAUTYCONNYC'S "BALANCED BEAUTY" PANEL ON APRIL 21. CAN'T JOIN IN PERSON? FOLLOW ALONG ON INSTAGRAM USING #BEAUTYCONNYC.
